Johnny Depp played the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow in the phenomenally successful Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He frequently played the role from 2003 to 2017, showing up in five distinct movies. Disney has subsequently broken his links with them, therefore they are now searching for a replacement.

According to Giant Freakin' Robot, Dwayne Johnson has replaced Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. Disney and the former WWE star-turned-actor haven't yet verified the rumors, though.
